Athletes & Sports Performance

Mental Blocks

Slumps. Yips. Severe drops in performance. Mental Blocks can show up in many ways. I have experience with nearly every sports helping athletes process mental blocks using EMDR and getting back to performing with confidence.

Anxiety

Anxiety can show up in many ways. Throwing up before games. IBS during games. Negative thoughts and general lack of confidence. I help athletes understand anxiety and develop tools to overcome anxiety so that they can compete without fear.

Emotional Regulation

Running of the court crying. Fighting with coaches and referees. Shutting down completely and refusing to play. I help athletes identify emotions, learn to control them, and use them to fuel performance rather than take them out of the game.

How EMDR Can Help

Overcoming Mental Blocks

EMDR addresses deep-rooted beliefs, negative self-talk, and emotional barriers that hinder an athlete’s performance. By reprocessing these obstacles, EMDR helps athletes overcome mental blocks, enabling them to perform at their peak potential.

Improved Concentration

Through the bilateral stimulation used in EMDR, athletes learn to enhance their focus and concentration skills. This promotes the ability to maintain high performance even under pressure, leading to consistent and improved results.

Reduce Performance Anxiety

Many athletes struggle with performance anxiety, which can negatively impact their performance. EMDR helps identify and reprocess the underlying causes of anxiety, allowing athletes to develop better coping techniques and robust mental resilience.

Building Confidence

EMDR allows athletes to reprocess past failures, trauma, or negative experiences that may undermine their confidence. By reprogramming these memories, EMDR helps build a solid foundation of belief in oneself and enhance self-efficacy.
